For this week's theme "Immovable", I thought of Narcissus, the youth in Greek mythology who fell in love with his own reflection in the water, that he pined away after he cannot get the one he loves. Now there is a spring flower named after him "Narcissus" which I depicted him holding out to his beloved self in the water..
I discovered this artist while browsing for research for my own store today. Btw, I'm opening a new store online! It's quite exciting.
Cake made by Felicia Khoo Believe you me, I'm not paid for saying this, but while surfing on xin.msn.com, I came across an incredibly talented piece of work / cake.
Stargazing by littlepixyboots This week's theme was stargazing and I decided to pay a tribute to my best friend's hamster Piggles, who just passed away last week. I hope that with this illustration, my friend knows that there is life after death, and her beloved hamsters are always well taken care of by a special angel..
Recently I've been missing Singapore soap dramas and entertainment shows by Singaporean artistes, so I decided to check out if I could watch tv shows from Singapore on the internet. The good news is that my former employer, Mediacorp (the biggest tv broadcaster in Singapore) has recently signed a contract with MSN.com to create xin.
Today is the birthday of one of my favourite ladies in the world, and here's the card I drew for her. The Mother Figure I named this piece "The Mother Figure". It's such a simple drawing that I'm almost ashamed to give it a name, yet somehow the simplicity is what's beautiful about it.
So technically I am a working from home 3 days a week. 3 days a week to draw and promote. Promoting is annoying but the drawing is fun!
Today there was so much typing that I felt like I worked at one of those slave driving typing job which i can not remember the name of to save my life. I assure you I had one at some point. Blogging, SEO and much more blogging.
After a 2 week visit from mom, a little trip to Lillehammer and starting daycare it would appear life is going back to a somewhat “normal” state. Back to blogging, designing, seeing if i can get my frickin drivers license here and drawing. I re-vamped the site a tad.
I got myself a red moleskine sketch book. I like the idea of having a sketch diary and yet am completely incapable of keeping a diary despite many attempts. So, Now i have a 1 paragraph a day mommy diary which is super cool and my moleskine!
Miraculously I have gotten the day off from catering to my wonderful yet scatterbrained Buggaboo today. It’s 2:50 and I haven’t showered, cook anything, cleaned anything or gone anywhere since 8:30 this morning. Lovely Here is the days labor so far.
Sooo ,in light of these super and fantastically geeky QR codes out there I was inspired to make some uber geek business cards for people who want to promote their virtual businesses. I was told that they are properly exuding just the right amount of geek. I hope so.

The Irish Nomad is no longer in Norway :(She has moved on to adventures new in Malaysia, after a brief stop-off home in Ireland
I've done my final post from Norway - I think. It's over at The Irish Nomad in Malaysia Blog where I'll be blogging from now on. Hope you'll come and join me there
After almost six years living on the edge of a large field where deer roam and skiing tracks run from the door in winter, where we can look out onto hills and Oslo Fjord, we're moving to a tropical city of skyscrapers, traffic jams and slightly less-endearing creatures than deer. It's not quite a case of country hicks moving to the city, as we've lived in Asia before: two years in Singapore, three in Manila, but going back is going to be exciting and certainly different. and very, very sweaty.
For anyone interested in James Joyce and, more specifically, the connection between Henrik Ibsen and James Joyce, members of the Norwegian Irish Society have organized a great evening of events in Oslo on June 16. Click on the image above to enlarge. There may still be a few places left for the lectures at the Ibsen Museum (contact John Fitzgerald for details: 93068032) and all are welcome to join in the post-lecture festivities at Lorry on Parkveien.
I dislike travelling. Hardly a nomadic trait but there you go. I move from one country to another, and once ensconced in whatever house we choose as our latest home, I tend not to venture far.
Yesterday I cancelled my gym membership, with tears in my eyes. I seem to do everything these days with tears in my eyes; I?m a big cry-baby.
